Day 59 Weights, Measures and Pictures!

2 months down.

Even more so than last month when I was thinking there wouldn't be much discernible change, I was thinking there would be no change at all this month. I figured a new photo would be a waste of time as it wouldn't show any changes whatsoever. I took a pic anyway just to prove to myself there were no changes.

But while the scales registered virtually no loss, happily the measurements and pics told another story. I strongly recommend people use measurements and photos and not just rely on the scale to track their progress.

Below are all the stats and time line pics. Again, the surgery noted on the pics was a hysterectomy where they found a severe case of endometriosis. I did not have a tummy tuck or gastric surgery or anything like that. I am now 3 months post op from all of that.

Wow. I was totally wrong about the changes. I'm excited. My daughter asked me if the new picture was one of the ones she was playing around with in photoshop in January. NO IT IS NOT! There is absolutely no photo shopping done here at all.

She was amazed.

I'm amazed she's still living. LOL.

Again, can't wait to see the changes for next month and this time hope a few more pounds fall off. I'm not going to be staying off the scales for a month at a time. I'm going back to my regular routine of weighing daily. While I think it works well for others, I don't think it works well for me.

306 days or 10 months to go.

  1. You look fantastic. Why would you want to go back to daily weighing? It's just so misleading and can easily make one depressed. You are so supportive and helpful to others, including me - I can't even imagine you telling someone to weigh daily. You know that there are many reasons for weight fluctuation on a daily basis. I hope you will reconsider.

  2. Hola Chica!

I'm not advocating others do it. I'm saying weighing once a month doesn't work for me. I did it this month and I know it had some effect on my (lack) of weight loss. It's just not good for me. I need to do what works for me and regular weighing does work. I'm aware of the fluctuations and in fact, aware so much that I can look at the number and know why it's 'fluxed' so it doesn't impact me like it does others.

I realize it doesn't work for everyone and am not advocating it for everyone. Just me :)

  3. I was just concerned that you would set yourself up for depression, defeat, sadness, or something similar to that. But, you know yourself. How about once a week - say Sunday morning? Perhaps daily is best - I just can't imagine the benefit to that - do you feel like explaining?

  4. You are funny. This works for me. This isn't the first diet I've been on ya know! LOL It doesn't work for everyone but I get the opposite reaction when weighing once a week or once a month. I get anxious and I feel out of sorts, and it certainly wasn't very uplifting at the end to see no progress in that area. I need to follow it as it helps me stay on track. I know I would have done better had I known where I was all month. It works for me. If it doesn't work for you, that's OK!

  5. I honestly don't know if it would work for me as I have never really done it. I just think I would get way (pun intended) too stressed seeing my weight go up 2 pounds one day - stay the same the next day - maybe go up 3 pounds or down 3 pounds the next day - I know myself (as you know yourself) and I know that I would become obsessive and I need to do what I can to contain that aspect of my personalty. But, you are right, that's just me.

Sending positive energy and thoughts in your direction; I hope that you achieve your heart's desire. I am now going to eat my breakfast of Greek yogurt and a banana, with lemon tea.
